      2013 Christmas Community Celebration in Support of Toys for Tots

      THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
       

      The 2013 Christmas Community Celebration in Support of Toys for Tots is a community-driven event supported by the 100 Black Men of Madison, Inc.  In lieu of admission fees, attendees are asked to bring an unwrapped gift worth $15 or more to donate to the United States Marine Corps' Toys for Tots program.

      The event is from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Fitchburg Community Center. Refreshments will be served.

      About the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program

      The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

       

      The objectives of the program are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation's most valuable resources, our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

      About the 100 Black Men of Madison, Inc.

      The Mission of the 100 Black Men of Madison, Inc. (the "100") is to improve the quality of life within our communities and enhance education and economic opportunities for all African Americans.  The "100" seeks to serve as a beacon of leadership by utilizing our diverse talents to create environments where our children are motivated to achieve, and to empower our people to become self-sufficient shareholders in the economic and social fabric of the communities we serve.

      The "100" is committed to the intellectual development of youth and the economic empowerment of the African American community, based on the following precepts:  respect for family, spirituality, justice and integrity.
