      Madison Aruna Run 2018

Check out our giveaways, fundraising awards, and race awards!   Across the world, today, millions languish in sexual slavery. They are more than statistics; they are individuals, with hopes and fears, dreams and doubts. Apart from someone stepping into their need, young women like Reshma will never be free. We run to raise awareness of her need, to raise funds to secure her freedom through outreach programs, and to sustain her freedom through full time employment. When you run or walk in an Aruna Run, you run for a specific woman by name, like Reshma. You run for her freedom.     Events: We're offering a 5K and 1-mile run/walk option.  Fee: Early-bird registration of $25 until August 31. After August 31, registration is $30. Kids ages 6-17 are $15 until August 31, then $20 thereafter. Children 5 and under are free (do not receive a t-shirt). Register early to be guaranteed a t-shirt. One-hundred percent goes to free, empower, and employ! Times: Both the 5K and 1-mile start at 9:00 am. Packet pickup and walk-up registration opens at 8:00 am. Teams: Teams are welcomed and encouraged. Team formation will occur at the end of registration with the options to create or join a team.  Race Giveaways: Each Aruna Run participant will receive a t-shirt (except children 5 & under), coupons from our sponsors, postrace refreshments, and an Athletic Drawstring Backpack made by women who are now freed, empowered, and employed! Each finisher will also receive a 2018 Aruna Run finisher medal. Sign up early to guarantee t-shirt size and availability.  Prizes: Our sponsors have donated a variety of prizes for top fundraisers and fastest runners, along with several giveaways for everyone who runs or walks for freedom. Check 'em out here! Sponsors: A big thank you to our generous sponsors for offsetting the cost of the event, ensuring that 100% of the money raised from entry fees and donations will go directly to help free, empower, and employ the women we serve.  Race Host: The Madison Aruna Run is organized locally by Alex Pence. For questions about the run, volunteering, or becoming a sponsor, contact Alex at Donations: Donations can be made on the official Madison Aruna Run 2018 Fundraising Page. You can choose to make a general event donation or donate specifically to an individual's or team's fundraising campaign. Refund Policy: No refunds.  Steps for Registering and Setting Up Fundraising Pages Register here on Eventbrite for the race -- Everyone participating in the race must register through Eventbrite. If you want to create or join a team, you first need to register here and then you will be prompted to create or join a team once you are automatically directed to the Crowdrise fundraising system. Note: If you are registering multiple people at one time, please note that only the person listed in the "Buyer" section of the registration form will be given a fundraising page in the next step. If everyone you are registering wants his/her own fundraising page, then each participant should register separately with an unique email address. Choose How You Want to Fundraise -- After you fill out the registration form and submit payment, you will be automatically redirected to a page that says "You Are Almost Done!" and prompts you to select "Create a Team," "Join a Team," or "Fundraise as an Individual." This page, along with the registration confirmation email, is confirmation that your order went through.Select the option that applies to you. If you select "Join a Team," then you will need to enter the name of the team you wish to join. Then simply follow the prompts to create your fundraising page. If you do not wish to fundraise, you may simply "X" out of this screen. Contact Sarah Prud'homme at FAQs Are walkers welcome? Of course! Whether walking or running, we are all out there for the same goal -- to raise funds to help bring freedom to the sexually enslaved. Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? Nope! As long you can cover the distance, we welcome all ages to participate. Parents are welcome to push kids in strollers too. Can I update my registration information? We all mistakes and things change. So yes, you can update your registration information. Is my registration fee transferrable? Unfortunately, no. But if you cannot join us for the race, we will still make every effort to ensure you get your race giveaway items. Contact Alex Pence at to make arrangements to pick them up. And the good news is 100% of your registration fee goes directly towards the cause of freeing, empowering, and employing enslaved women. So even if you can't join us, your money will still make an impact. Is it ok if the name on my registration doesn't match the person who attends? Unfortunately, no. We need all registrations to match the person who attends the race for timing and legal purposes.
