WI Film Festival/Wisconsin's Own: Yen Ching

The Wisconsin Film Festival and the Madison Public Library are proud to present a series of Wisconsin's Own features from this year's festival.

"What starts as an appetizing, nuts-and-bolts documentary about Milwaukee's beloved YEN CHING restaurant ends as a layered and moving portrait of intergenerational differences and the Chinese-American immigrant experience" (WI Film Fest).

Director Yinan Wang will be attending the screening.

Documentary photographer and film maker Yinan Wang 王一男 was born in Beijing. His works explore minority worlds in China, and the United States. He began his career as a cinematographer creating ethnographic studies that document the day-to-day lives and cultures of Indigenous peoples in China. YEN CHING is his first feature film. He is currently an MFA candidate in Film at Temple University in Philadelphia.

This event was funded through a grant from Madison Public Library Foundation.
